This plant originates basically from Mexican rainforests specially from Panama. Monstera is called cheese plant because it has swiss cheese like holes on its leaves. Deliciosa means delicious, this plant is called so because it bears amazingly tasty fruit on maturity which tastes as a mix of Jack fruit, grapes and guava.  Monstera plant in initial stage do not show fenestration. It means the holes in plant appears once plant is mature at least 2 year old. Have you ever wondered why monstera    leaves have holes? This is due to special adaptation on plant if it will not have holes strong winds and hurricanes which is common in Panama region will knock this plant down from its carrier.
